A Day Out With Thomas!

"We're going to see Thomas today!" was the sound I woke up to Sunday morning. Joel was beaming with excitement from the moment he woke up, to well past returning home from our "Day out with Thomas". This was the day he'd been patiently awaiting for over six months, and now that it was here, we got to witness, what seemed like, all his sweetest dreams coming true.

This really was a great event for families to attend. I know we had a blast, and as I could tell, every body else was too. There where a few different trains to ride, "The Imagination Station", a live band playing in the grassy picnic area, bounce houses, a petting zoo, a HUGE gift shop, all kinds of yummy food, and you even had the chance to meet Sir Topham Hat! But above all else, the ride on Thomas the Tank Engine was the highlight of so many's afternoon. Riding Thomas and the "Imagination Station" were tied for first place in Joel's eye's though. Avery would probably say that the dancing in the park to the live band was her favorite. But then again, dancing is always at the top of her list! Gracey stayed at Grammy's house for this outing. Swouldn't have enjoyed missing two nap times and that long of a stroller ride. Of course Grammy's house is like home away from home from her, and Grammy LOVES playing house with her baby G.

The live band in the part was so great for me and Avery.
While daddy and Joel went to meet Sir Topham Hat, we danced and sang to the music.

You can't tell here, but she was rock'n out big time!

This is a the little girl who Avery decided was her best friend.
They danced together for almost 30 mins. So precious to see her be so friendly and fun. Everyone we meets is a friend of Avery's. She has the most loving and joyful spirit.

"The Imagination Station"
This was a giant tent where kids could come a play with trains and tracks. There were TONS of kids and TONS of tracks to play with. There were also craft stations set up all around for kids to color and stamp.

Getting Joel to move from this event to the next was nearly impossible.
He LOVED this part of the day.

Avery really enjoyed the crafts.
This pic shows Avery stamping for the first time.
...and perhaps her favorite, COLORING!

The bounce house was a hit!

Here we are on our Thomas train ride

No Trick's but a lot of Treats...

It was definately a Happy Halloween! Family and friends filled our house and we all had a blast watching the kiddos load up on treats and parade around the block in the costumes. As you can see, Joel was Spiderman, Avery was a Fairy, and Gracelyn was a Pumpkin. But the cuteness didn't stop there... Noah, Joel's buddy, was an Elephant, and Elliana, Avery's buddy, was a Panda. Oh, and of course Mark and I both dressed up. You can tell what I was, but it may be hard to tell that Mark was... He was Martin Luther! So funny, and sooo Mark :)

It's just the best thing ever to see our kids truly enjoying traditions like this. Watching them run from house to house (even Avery totally understood) saying "Trick or Treat", and "Happy Halloween". Joel is old enough to have been waiting with great anticipation for the day to finally arrive, and when it did, oh was he ready for it! However, Avery needs about another year to get to this stage. But I will say that as soon as she figured out what was going on... she never skipped a beat! I am so thankful to have these memories to hold on to for the rest of my life. God is so good to me, and shows me His love and grace each day that I get to love on the family He's given me. Thank you Lord for good times with our most loved ones.
